TRANSITION INTO A TINY HOME – WHERE TO BEGIN?

STUFF-A-MANIA

We have done quite a bit of research about the type of house on wheels we want to live in. We will need to sell everything we own in order to fit our lives into 120 sqft of space. Not an easy task as it takes a lot of planning and patience.

Our current house is 3800sqft and it’s too time consuming to maintain. Since our decision to downsize began we have spent January and February of this year just sorting through the stuff categorising what donates to charity and and goes to sale. Even as I create this post, Rene is diligently photographing item by item and putting them up for sale on websites like Mudah.com and Facebook. Such a tedious task especially when travel awaits you.

THE TYPE OF CAMPER AVAILABLE IN MALAYSIA

Unlike in the West, Malaysia has huge limitations when it comes to mobile homes. You can’t walk into dealerships to buy an RV or a mobile home at all. You also are not allowed to make van conversions. Quite sad really and the only Camper Truck available is made in China costing Rm207,ooo (Usd50,000)  We went to Klang to check it out non the less and here’s a short video of the CAM’s interior space just to give you an idea of how tiny our future home will be. 🙂

Unfortunately, the CAM is above and beyond our budget and the fact that the camper can’t dismount off the truck isn’t something we want to face when we need to move around without lugging around our home. Now if you want to try staying in one of these camper trucks, head over to Langkawi where they are about 20 of them and I think you can rent one for around Rm1200 (Usd350) a night. Give it a go! 🙂

THE CAMPER TRUCK OF OUR DREAMS

This is the Earth Cruiser, it’s the camper truck of our dreams but only available in Australia. If you find one in Malaysia please tell us where it is because we would love to check it out in person! 😮

THE CAMPER TRUCK WE WILL PROBABLY GET IN THE END

This is the Toyota Hilux 2016 Diesel and that is a LANCE camper. Hopefully this will be our Camper. Fingers crossed, it’s either this or a stealth van conversion.
